The
door's frame was ripped to shreds, and bits of wood cracked under
Carl's boots. Every house on the block had scars of war such as this
one but this was different to him. The charred remnants of a body was
on its back facing the door. The mouth of the corpse was open and
frozen in a scream of agony.

	“Carl,
no one is left,” Trish said,”Let's get out of here before
nightfall.” She touched his arm but he didn't move.

	“I
thought --”, Carl looked through the door to his left, shining his
flashlight into the empty space.

	“They
aren't here, and if these, these people were them there is nothing we
can do now.” Trish looked over her shoulder to check the two bikes
they had rode here on, because if they lost those the two of them
would have no chance of finding shelter.

	He
walked up the steps that were to his right with Trish following him.
He took his pistol out of its holster and held it at the ready. The
family photographs hanging along the wall had been smashed and torn,
and picture frames lay strewn along the hallway. Carl took care to
not make any noise as he moved along the destroyed memories. The
first door to his left led to a gaping hole that had opened up the
floor, evidence of a large explosion. The right door revealed a room
that had been completely blackened by a fire.

	The
final door at the end of the hallway was shut, bullet holes marked
the door with the same taint the rest of the building had, but there
could be something heard on the other side. Carl grabbed the
doorknob and pulled it open. He brought the flashlight up with the
pistol in his other hand and didn't move.

	Trish
didn't either, she was too frightened of what would happen next. A
cry ripped through the silence, and then another. A figure leaped
through the air and nearly knocked Carl over as he dived to the side.
His pistol rang out as he got to his feet, and the first ghoul
stumbled and fell. The second came out of the darkness and nearly
tripped over the body of the first. Its snarls were met with with the
same from Carl as he lunged forward, bludgeoning the beast with the
butt of his weapon. Trish stumbled backwards, unsure of what to do.

	The
second beast slumped over the first and did not move. Now, more cries
came from below in the basement. Trish ran to the first door they had
passed and look down. She counted half a dozen of the ghouls that had
attacked Carl all staring up at her. They looked up with wide,
bloodshot eyes and screamed again, in unison.

	“Let's
go!” Carl screamed over the din.

	Trish
didn't need any other encouragement, and ran to the balcony that
overlooked the door they had come in by. One of the things was
standing in the entrance, looking back and forth between each door at
his side. Without a moment of hesitation, Trish leaped over the
balcony and landed on top of the ghoul below her. A savage crack rang
through the air as Trish's weight snapped the neck underneath her.
She rolled forward and ran for the bikes that were in the street,
with Carl not far behind her.

	He
stopped for a moment, and pulled out the book of matches he kept with
him at all times. This house was no different now. It was just the
same as the rest of them, no matter what it had meant to him before.
It was a past life he could never return to, no one could. With the
gasoline already poured before entering the house, Carl struck the
match in his hand with ease, and destroyed the last thing in his life
that reminded him of everything that had once been.

Alright, that may have been bit of a hyperbole, but oh well. You see, I have got a friend and his name is Mike Lee. Mike Lee is a cool guy, going into his second year of college at Michigan State. He's very charismatic and often times funny. Needless to say, he is an actor and a singer. Now, the guy makes those things nowadays, those video blogs? Some call them vlogs, I guess. Anyways, he's quite good at that whole scene.

Normally I would not bother any random person about something as mundane as a vlog, but you are reading a blog, aren't you? Doesn't everyone enjoy when such boring text is transmogrified into a flashy video? It seems someone likes watching others rant about their daily lives in a video as much as some like reading about others rant about their lives in a giant wall of text, so I figured at least one or two people reading would at least follow a link to Mr. Lee's video blog.

http://www.youtube.com/user/residentmikelee
http://www.youtube.com/user/vlogramen

These two links bring you to where his masterpieces are shown. So until I figure out the direction in which I'm going with this blog, be entertained by this kid and his friends.

I need to write to keep myself awake because my sleep schedule has been fucked up over the past week.

What would you say to a drink? No, not liquor, obviously. You need to stay dry for the next year at the very least or your wife is going to leave you and take the kids. You've done well the last two weeks, why not keep it up? You've gone to the doctor's office, you say? Well good job, really. Good job. Now you must understand that being medicated isn't everything. You need to find new hobbies, dad. You really do. I'd suggest video games but you know me. Just stay away from the alcohol and you should be set. But of course, finding a new job is something that should be at the top of the list to do anyways, so make sure you get on that. Oh, you might have already found a job you say? That's wonderful! Oh yes, the drink. Here you go, water with a lemon in it. Enjoy what should be a completely new life, dad.

I haven't decided what I'm going to do with this blog of mine yet, so in the meantime, I thought I'd announce that I am going to graduate High School... I think... Yeah. I think I will. I finished this year with a somewhat lackluster record. Between the Saturday school detention, being written up TWICE in 3 months, and failing the second trimester of Algebra 2 with a 9%, I'd have to say my Junior year was somewhat poor, behavior-wise, grade-wise, and pretty much everything-wise.

Still, I'm happy that Algebra 2 Tri. B was the only thing I failed. I was a bit worried about English 11, Film, Jewelry, and Civics. So in other words, there was a decent chance I was going to fail every single one of my classes. Algebra 2 is the first class I've failed in my High School career and hopefully will be my last. Luckily, being part of the class of '09, a class that is stuck between the transition of semester class requirements and trimester requirements, I don't have to take Algebra 2 B over again.

In other news, the plate silver that I'll be selling on Ebay is actually 100% mine now. My grandmother thought it would be nice to give it to me to sell since she couldn't sell it directly to the jeweler. Hopefully I get SOME money for it seeing as I spent almost 3 hours cleaning each piece of silver with the silver cleaner. Holy mother of Buddha, that stuff smells terrible.

No, I'm not a guy in a wheel chair that is having difficulty finding a job suiting my disability, I'm just a regular teenager looking for his first job. Now a days, it seems as if finding one's first job is just about the most difficult thing one can do. The places that ARE hiring are looking for someone who is eighteen or older, or one who has experience. I've walked into at least half a dozen places asking if they are hiring and 30 seconds later I'm out the door. The two places I find that are hiring dismiss me when I go to hand in my completed application (not much could be filled out, seeing as I don't have any valid recommendations to offer).

Now I have one more shot, but not really. It's an application to a local pet store that isn't looking for any more employees at the moment. I can only hope that a relative's recommendation could be enough to warrant a prospective job down the line, hopefully even before school begins again. I won't count on it though, and for the time being, I'm perfectly okay with making small amounts of money working for nearby family members and neighbors. Right now I have a box of plated silver that needs to go up on Ebay, hopefully there will be 50$ or so in it for me, which might last me two weeks, depending if there are any newly released games I feel like purchasing.
